[edit] redirects not working

Yongho: I'm trying to use the redirect function but it just doesn't work. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I use #redirect[[whatever]], but it shows up on the page as: #redirectWhatever, instead of redirecting. What's up? --Josh J. 17:09, 6 May 2005 (MDT)

nevermind... it works now! --Josh J. 17:29, 6 May 2005 (MDT)

[edit] masking links

I can't figure out how to make it display just "Campaigns" not "Category:Campaigns"

moved to Help:Editing

I just meant that the random page function is similar to category, in that it is more than just a simple article. But I suppose it works the same way, with the pipe and all. I'll try it out. Thanks, --Josh J. 21:39, 10 May 2005 (MDT)

[edit] re: line breaks

it's best to have regular paragraph breaks (an empty line in between paragraphs) to force line breaks, insert

<br />

to make a bulleted list, use an asterisk (*) at the beginning of each list item. so

* item 1
 * item 2
 * item 3

becomes

  • item 1
  • item 2
  • item 3

there are other tricks around, like using

; definition
 : meaning one
 : meaning two

or

# numbered lists

Thanks Yongho... it worked for what I needed, I think. --Josh J. 21:29, 2 Jul 2005 (MDT)

[edit] several files lost since April 1, 2007

Hey Josh, I accidentally deleted the uploaded files folder while upgrading mediawiki and restored to a April 1st 2007 backup. This means that those files you uploaded since April 1st at Special:Log/upload have been lost - could you re-upload them with the same name? Thanks, --Yongho Kim Talk 19:44, 6 May 2007 (MDT)
