September 30th, (T) 7:00-8:00 PM Guest: Prof. Juanita Garciagodoy
- Attendants: 4 (two Central High School students, Juliana Castellanos and Yongho Kim)
- Budget: $15 (2 ounces of apple cider from Bon Appetit)
- Sponsors: Spanish Dept (funding), ¡Adelante! (Advertised as part of Latino Heritage Month)
- Preparation: 10 anthologies of major latinamerican poets were made available for students to pick (this idea came from the Macalester/Reading Circle, a bi-weekly event organized by the Macalester/English Department)
- Comments: The two high school students didn’t really speak Spanish. I felt very awkward about having announced the event as Spanish only for the guest professor while trying to facilitate a more bilingual experience for the high school students. Session was planned to last 1.5 hours but professor decided to end because it was getting too long for 5 people.
