The National Student Conference on the Mixed Race Experience is scheduled to be held March 24th & 25th 2006 at Macalester College. Bridges, Macalester's Organization for bi- and multi-racial, cross cultural, and transracially adopted students, is happy to be hosting the conference. It's tentative theme is "Looking into the Mixed-Race Mirror" and will question the affect of the media on the mixed-race psyche.

[edit] Entertainment

The role of the entertainment committee is, as it obvious, to make sure that conference attendants are entertained. We are more than happy to take into consideration any suggestions, so please feel free to contact us.

[edit] Publicity

The publicity's committees job it to ensure that there is a good turn out at the conference. Their jobs, as it stands, include designing save-the-date postcards and send them in a timely matter, devolopment and execution of additional creative publicity methods, advertising our call for papers, and designing and producing the conference's program and folder.

[edit] Hospitality

The job of the hospitality committee is complex. They are to ensure hospitable housing for conference attendees, provide comprehensive lists of locations to eat, rest, and be merry, and arrange for on-site food service for common meals.

[edit] Speakers/Workshop

The role of the Speaker/Workshop committee is pretty obvious. Their job is to select keynote speaker(s), make sure they have housing and select from applicants who responded to our call for papers.

[edit] Funding

The role of the funding committee is to seek funding from all possible areas. Additionally, committee members are responsible for watching organization spending. They are to be held responsible for all finances.
