Macalester/Off Campus Student Employment

The OCSE or the Off-Campus Student Employment program from the CSO places Macalester students on local non-profit 501c3 organizations on the federal work-study payrolls.
Non-profits apply during January.
Students apply during March, on positions that CSO announces in February.
During April, applicants interview with organizations and sign their contracts.
Students normally work from September until April. They do not work J-terms save exceptions.
Approximately 25 students work on OCSE every year.
OCSE students have mandatory monthly 90 minute meeting/trainings in which local organizers and alumns are invited to give presentations on social movements and non-profit management.
