Official Name: "Enhancing Internships at Macalester"

• Reports to the Provost, Diane Michelfelder

Charge:

1. Develop a common language (shared concepts, etc) for talking about "internships", broadly defined;
2. In light of the college's mission, the President's "Strategic Imperatives" document and any other relevant considerations, specify what the goals and purposes of internships should be at Macalester;
3. given these goals and purposes, assess the college's existing approach to internships;
4. develop recommendations for enhancing the quality of internships at Macalester, paying attention to both the administrative and programmatic dimensions of this issue.
