Community Involvement: Lealtad-Suzuki Center and organizing a trip to a retreat on Ally Building at Hamline University for the Fall.

I'm from Lakeview, Oregon - it's southern Oregon - and I'm an American Studies / Journalism and Mass Communication double major. I'm very excited and happy about my major. [I'm latina because] my mother is third generation Mexican-American.

I'm president of Bridges and right now I serve in the Cultural House Advisory Board; I'd hope I can do it next year as well. Is that all I do? In Bridges, these days we're trying to reach out to other ACTC schools as well as the regular population of Macalester - we have been trying to do that for the past 10 years, but not very well.

Next year I will be working at the Lealtad-Suzuki Center so I'll be working at the newsletter. So hopefully I can build a lot of connections throughout the college community. We're sponsoring the fargo retreat.. next fall, a person at Hamline will be talking about Ally Building between students of color and mixed race people. So we are working on getting transportation.
