IGC/Student Council
from the Macalester Public Knowledge Base
The IGC Student Council (IGCSC) is part of the Institute for Global Citizenship (IGC) at Macalester. It has an advisory status, but holds significant power as the voice of the students and as a programming initiator. During the Spring 2007 semester, meetings of the IGCSC are held on Mondays at 4:45pm in Kagin 003.
Other advisory bodies include the Global Advisory Board and the IGC Advisory Committee.
The Mission of the IGC Student Council is:
To empower Macalester students to actively define their education and global citizenship and advance their conscious and ethical visions for the world. The Student Council will collaborate with the Macalester community to provide a common space for students’ engagement as members of the various and diverse communities to which we belong.
