you need to log in or create an account to be able to upload images.
once that's done, click upload file to the left side of the screen.
it's recommended that you enter some explanation on where the image was obtained (if a picture, did you take it?, if so, what's your copyright policy?) as well as some further description of the image if you feel the file name is insufficiently descriptive.
when you submit, the program will tell you that the file name is being changed. go forward
allowed file extensions are JPG, GIF, PNG, PDF, OGG. Editing this list requires changing /w-en/LocalSettings.php - contact a Category:Server operators
done. the image can be loaded from any page by writing [[Image:FILENAME]] (don't forget to include the extension in FILENAME!)]]
